Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent charity that supports seriously ill or injured children, high‐risk mothers and their families. RMHC South East Queensland operates across a federated structure nationally and globally, providing accommodation and essential support programs. Our Houses and programs operate 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring families can stay together and feel supported during some of their toughest moments. Our mission is to remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

This permanent full-time Events and Community Engagement Coordinator role is instrumental in developing relationships with third-party community fundraisers and event stakeholders. The role is pivotal in the management of event participants and guests to ensure a quality supporter experience while also increasing donor acquisition. The successful candidate will work closely within the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications team for key events including, but not limited to, the RMHC SEQ Race Day, RMHC SEQ Gala Ball, McDonald's Golf Day and the Impact Thank You Events.

The successful candidate will be driven to help others in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, working closely within a team to provide exceptional outcomes. To support this important work, the successful applicant will have access to flexible work opportunities (including working from home options), a company laptop and mobile phone (or allowance towards own device).

Key responsibilities:

* Develop an event tactical plan in collaboration with the Events and Community Engagement Specialist.
* Assist in developing a donor journey plan for all events that includes before, during and after an event.
* Provide end to end support for event fundraising plans and attend all internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.
* Nurture relationships with new and existing community fundraisers.
* Brief internal teams and stakeholders alike, to ensure requirements for community and third-party fundraising events are fulfilled and deliverables met.
* Identify, cultivate and steward key relationships ensuring long term relationships and income generation.
* Create run sheets, volunteer brief notes, and roles and responsibilities for each community and third-party event attended.
* Contribute and assist with risk management for events to ensure overall risk management and compliance of events with local, national and global RMHC requirements and all government legislation.
* Coordinate event logistics and represent RMHC SEQ at third-party and community events as required, ensuring a strong and positive presence.
* Ensure all records, documentation and databases associated with the role are completed and maintained in a timely and accurate way. This includes tracking event outcomes and gathering feedback for future improvement.
* Attend RMHC SEQ internal and external events as required.

Key Selection Criteria:

* Minimum of 2 years working in Fundraising, Community Engagement or Events role.
* Tertiary qualification/s in communications, fundraising, or event management.
* Well-established level of computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and online fundraising platforms.
* Experience working with/for community-based initiatives or human services delivery. Additionally, experience working with families and an understanding of the importance of a maintaining a child safety culture will be highly desirable.
* Currently hold, or have an ability to obtain, a National Crime Check and Blue Card.
* Currently hold a valid open driver's licence.
