About The Role
The Place Activation Coordinator sits within the Creative Melbourne branch and offers an exciting opportunity to help revitalise Melbourne's streets and public spaces through creative, people-focused place activation.
This is a hands-on, design-focused role that applies placemaking, urban design and spatial thinking to transform public space — from early concept development through to detailed design, delivery and evaluation. The role plays a key part in supporting the City of Melbourne's strategic objectives under the Council Plan, Melbourne 2050 Vision and Creative Melbourne priorities.
Working closely with the Place Activation Lead and cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to the strategy, design and delivery of place activation initiatives, producing visual communications and technical outputs that bring ideas to life and support high-quality public realm outcomes.
A Little More About The Role
* Develop the strategy and design of place activation initiatives, applying placemaking, urban design and public-space design principles
* Produce design-led project outputs including scaled site analysis, spatial concepts, mock-ups, masterplans, sketches and technical documentation
* Develop visual and presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite to communicate design intent to internal and external stakeholders
* Manage projects end-to-end, balancing creative design development with delivery, budgets, stakeholder engagement and evaluation
