A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced arts professional to take on a challenging role in artistic planning and programming for a prominent orchestra.
The position involves leading the development of strategic, innovative, and high-calibre artistic programs that enhance the orchestra's artistic capability and excellence while ensuring operational efficiency. The successful candidate will deliver a curated annual program of concerts and activities that showcase the orchestra's capabilities and optimise resource allocation.
This role requires close collaboration with senior leadership team members, particularly the Director of Orchestral Operations responsible for scheduling the full season and Marketing for the promotion and selling of the season programs. Community engagement initiatives and educational programs, including First Nations activities, are also overseen by this role.
Responsibilities include:

* Managing workflow and processes
Community Engagement and Education responsibilities involve overseeing the QSO Connect program and integrating planning of Connect activities with the Artistic program, supporting Regional Touring planning and implementation.
Leadership, Coaching and Culture requirements include providing strategic leadership for the Artistic Department, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative team environment characterised by clear communication and shared goals. The successful candidate will lead, mentor, and coach the Artistic team to ensure high performance, professional development, and continuous improvement.
Financial management and systems responsibilities involve preparing, recommending, and managing expenditure budgets for the Artistic Planning Department and artistic budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources while maintaining artistic and operational excellence.
