Support Worker Job Opportunity
About the Role:
We are seeking skilled Support Workers to join our team in Port Kennedy and Baldivis area. The ideal candidate will provide practical assistance to individuals with complex needs, helping them achieve personal goals and manage daily tasks.
The successful applicant must be adaptable and flexible, with experience working with people who have challenging behaviors. Delivering 1:1 disability support is a requirement, and experience working with various disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and psycho-social disabilities, is highly desirable.
Shifts typically range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for day shifts, and usually from 5:00 PM to 8:30 AM for afternoon and sleepover shifts. There may also be 4-hour shifts available during the day.
Candidates must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including a mix of day and night shifts. Flexibility to cover shifts at short notice is also required.
Once part of the casual pool, you will be prioritized for permanent lines as they become available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist individuals in achieving their personal objectives.
* Support with daily living activities, such as cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, and shopping.
* Encourage independence and assist with personal care (when applicable).
* Collaborate with individuals to engage their community and community support agencies.
* Monitor and review progress through the service and against the case plan.
* Utilize positive behavior strategies.
* Maintain progress notes and record-keeping.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs and behaviors, including physical and intellectual disabilities.
* Cert III Individual Support or similar qualification.
* Epilepsy support and midazolam administration training (advantageous).
* Good computer literacy and administration skills to complete progress notes and use online systems.
* Unrestricted Australian driver's license.
* Current Provide First Aid certificate (mandatory prior to offer).
