The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) Consultant to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about driving sustainable outcomes in the built environment, working alongside some of the best engineers and architects in the industry. You'll be instrumental in shaping the environmental performance of our projects, delivering expert advice, and leading sustainability initiatives from concept design through to construction and post‑occupancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of ESD strategies across a range of building projects.
* Conduct building performance modelling (e.g., energy, daylight, thermal comfort) and analysis using industry‑standard software.
* Manage and deliver Green Star and WELL certification projects, ensuring compliance and optimal rating outcomes.
* Provide expert advice on NCC Section J compliance, low‑carbon design, passive design principles, and material selection.
* Collaborate effectively with internal engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic) and external design teams (Architects, Developers).
* Prepare high‑quality technical reports, presentations, and design documentation.
* Stay abreast of the latest sustainable technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in Victoria and nationally.
What You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an ESD Consultant in the Australian built environment sector.
* Proven track record managing and delivering successful Green Star (Design & As Built) certified projects.
* Proficiency with building performance simulation tools (e.g., IES‑VE, EnergyPlus, Rhino/Grasshopper).
* Strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), particularly energy efficiency requirements (Section J).
* Excellent communication, presentation, and report‑writing skills.
* Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP) status is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of the WELL Building Standard is a plus.
