We are seeking an experienced Technology Architect to join a high-impact team delivering complex ICT and digital transformation initiatives within the Australian Government. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for emerging technologies such as AI, cloud, and automation.
Your new role
* Provide strategic technical leadership across multiple projects and environments.
* Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable technical solutions.
* Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and business-focused.
* Lead and mentor internal teams, supporting capability uplift and knowledge transfer.
* Oversee technical project delivery, ensuring outcomes are on time, within budget, and aligned with government standards.
* Apply AI and emerging technology policies to real-world government use cases.
* Manage M365 and Azure environments, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.
* Support system accreditation processes including ISM, IRAP, and penetration testing.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience delivering complex ICT solutions in Australian Government environments.
* Strong understanding of AI policies, data security, and responsible technology use.
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and Azure administration.
* Familiarity with government security frameworks (ISM, IRAP).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Experience in Whole-of-Government ICT programs.
* Background in training, mentoring, and capability uplift.
* Ability to adapt to evolving technology landscapes and policy environments.
* Canberra, ACT based candidates only, due to the collaborative and interactive nature of the role.
* Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a minimum NV1 security clearance. Candidates without the required clearance will not be considered.
