The Senso Ground Training Instructor will provide support to all aspects of training, assessment, development and delivery within the Thales Australia Joint Helicopter School JHS. This position involves the direct Instruction of Navy ab-initio students, including regular engagement activities within Boeing Defence Australia (BDA), Navy and Army Instructors, as well as other civilian staff within the training School.
Training will utilise a combination of CBT, Tactical Part Task Trainers and classroom-based tutorials in a blended learning environment. All Instruction for this role is situated in a strictly ground-based training environment, specifically aimed at the veteran community which may have a broad range of diverse personal circumstances.
Candidates must be Australian Citizens to undertake Defence Security Clearance, and will need to meet NV1 and ITAR eligibility requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senso Ground Training Instructor is responsible to:
Lead the delivery and/or coordinate the delivery of Navy Aircrewman (Mission Sensor Employment Course - MSEC) training and assessment events within the Joint Helicopter School (JHS)
Assist in the delivery and/or coordination of delivery of all other training and assessment events for Synthetic Training Devices (STD) training
Supervise, coordinate, mentor and monitor the performance of trainees undertaking training
Undertake and/or assist in the development or conduct of training evaluation and validation activities
Reviewing curriculum and providing recommendations for training efficiency improvements
Updating of instructor guides, student guides, synthetic simulation scenarios and training reference materials under the guidelines of current training directives
Undertake and/or assist in the development or conduct of training needs analysis activities
Assist the Thales business line as a subject matter expert in aviation related roles
Provide an equitable and accessible training and assessment environment for all training customers and participants
Ensure the application of relevant workplace safety practices and risk mitigation in support of the conduct of training and assessment events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE ) or equivalent, or ability to undertake this level of training
MH-60R Seahawk helicopter platform experience
Qualified Aircrewman Sensor Instructor or equivalent
Vocational experience as an ADF Military Flying Training Instructor
Demonstrated experience in the Military Helicopter or Maritime technical domain. Specifically, knowledge and experience with some or all the following will be an advantage:
Maritime Tactical Operations
Maritime Airborne Mission systems (Radios, Navigation Systems)
Maritime Airborne Mission Sensors (Radar, Sonar, ESM, FLIR, EO, Datalinks)
Naval Recognition
Operational experience as embarked flight aircrew
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation
Excellent numeric, literacy, interpersonal and comprehension skills
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience with the Defence Training Model (DTM) & SADL processes
Experience with the Australian Quality Training Framework and/or vocational education and training
