About the Role
Supporting the GM of Legal, Sustainability and Corporate Governance, the Head of Legal provides legal advice across Cotton On Group Brands. Leading a high‑performing team across IP, Consumer Law, Employee Relations, Commercial and Corporate, the role protects the Group commercially and proactively.
Responsibilities
- Providing strategic and commercial legal advice, policy and risk management direction.
- Supporting the GM with legal disputes, litigation, regulatory compliance, major transactions and trademark portfolio.
- Proactive escalation of legal and compliance risk and identification of solutions and treatments.
- Delivering legal training as part of the annual Legal Education Program.
Skills and Experience
- 12‑15+ years’ PQE legal experience, ideally 6+ years in‑house.
- In‑depth knowledge in IP, Employment law, Litigation, Consumer Law, Commercial and Corporate.
- Experience or exposure across multiple global markets (US advantage).
- Strong communicator who can build and influence relationships across all levels.
- Commercial acumen, strategic thinker, sound judgement.
- Excellent execution with pragmatic approach.
- Previous leadership in a fast‑paced, agile environment (retail preferred).
