* Develop and maintain production procedures, work instructions, and build documentation.
* Monitor production efficiency, yield, rework, and throughput, identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality functions to resolve production issues.
Hands‑On Manufacturing & Assembly
* Perform hands‑on assembly of battery, electrical and electronic products, including:
* Wiring, cabling, mechanical assembly and soldering
* Battery Assembly: Assemble battery modules including spot welding.
* Enclosure and final product assembly
* Conduct functional testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies.
* Assist with prototype builds, pilot runs, and low‑to‑medium volume production.
* Support engineering during design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) and design‑for‑assembly (DFA) activities.
* Electronic Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electronic equipment to ensure their optimal operation.
* Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing, calibration, and quality control checks on electronic equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Assemble, load firmware and test products for sale to customers
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure products are manufactured to specification, drawings, and applicable standards.
* Implement and maintain quality control checks and inspection processes.
* Manage non‑conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with relevant safety, electrical, and regulatory requirements (e.g. WHS, electrical safety, basic EMC awareness).
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, as well as equipment specifications and changes.
Team Leadership & Supervision
* Supervise and mentor production technicians and assemblers.
* Provide on‑the‑job training and skills development.
* Foster a safe, organised, and productive workshop environment.
* Ensure adherence to WHS policies and safe working practices.
Inventory, Tools & Resources
* Manage and update the inventory of electronic components, tools, consumables and spare parts.
* Coordinate with procurement to ensure parts availability and minimise delays.
* Maintain production tools, jigs, test equipment, and workspaces.
* Assist with selection and commissioning of new production equipment as required.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, tooling, and workflows.
* Support scalability from prototype to production volumes.
* Contribute to cost reduction, reliability improvement, and manufacturability enhancements.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Experience in electronics manufacturing or production environments.
* Strong hands‑on skills in mechanical, electronic, and cabling assembly and testing.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, drawings, and build documentation.
* Experience managing or coordinating small production teams.
* Good organisational and time‑management skills.
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
