Let's create what's next.The OpportunityThe Responsible Investment team supports the Future Fund in managing environmental, social, governance and climate change risks and opportunities across the investment portfolio.The Manager, Responsible Investment will play a pivotal role in implementing our Responsible Investment (RI) strategy. The position requires an experienced investment professional with expertise in RI. The position will work closely with the Director, Responsible Investment to integrate RI principles across our investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. This role will also collaborate with senior RI subject matter experts in the team to ensure knowledge sharing and alignment in objectives and work programs. Some of the key objectives of the role include:Collaboration across the investment team on the implementation of RI management principles, ESG integration strategies, frameworks and tools.Supporting the investment team to understand ESG risks and opportunities throughout due diligence, appointment and monitoring of investment managers.Researching, monitoring and reporting of ESG risks and opportunities across the investment portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesAs Manager, Responsible Investment, you will be responsible for facilitation and coordination of ESG integration capacity building initiatives to uplift knowledge, capability and embed new processes across the investment team.You'll collaborate with the investment team and RI experts to integrate ESG risks and opportunities into investment research and decision-making processes, incorporating RI management principles and comprehensive ESG assessments. This includes monitoring asset and investment manager RI ratings, establishing RI implementation baselines, and providing best practice insights to align with RI goals. Additionally, you'll be responsible for identifying and monitoring material ESG risks and opportunities, leading the implementation of investment exclusions, and participating in external collaborations to drive systemic change.About YouTo be considered for the role, you should possess relevant tertiary academic qualifications in finance, economics, sustainable investment, or a related discipline. You should be an experienced investment professional with a demonstrated understanding of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues in institutional investing. Experience in developing and articulating ESG, thematic, and investment-related insights and research is essential, along with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders and external partners.Key competencies for success in the role include a strong understanding of how to embed responsible investment (RI) principles and integrate ESG considerations into portfolio design and construction. You should be collaborative, able to engage in respectful debate and work closely with others to achieve team goals. Effective communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively is crucial.
