Non-Government School Regulation are seeking to establish a pool of Consultant Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of January 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

We are a small team working closely with the Catholic and independent non-government school sector on matters relating to the regulation of non-government schools, international education and community-based course providers.

Through direct engagement with school leaders and communities, the Non-Government School Regulation directorate oversees the registration of non-government schools in Western Australia. Registration assures parents and the community that non-government schools are safe places where students can learn.


The Role

Consultant Support Officers provide support for consultancy functions associated with regulation, registration and exemption matters. They undertake initial review of applications for non-government school registration and exemption from school enrolment.

Suitable applicants will assist in the risk-based periodic review of systems, processes, performance and standards of metropolitan, regional and remote non-government schools, schools with an international student intake, and community-based courses. Additionally, they will assist with research and analysis of emerging issues, trends, policy changes, and technology as they relate to the Western Australian education sector.

Applicants deemed suitable for inclusion in the pool may be appointed to any of the three available positions.
