Staff numbers currently sit around 250 although we expect this to jump to 300 in the months ahead. The Role This is a long term opportunity. It's effectively a stand-alone, end to end payroll position for a non for profit organisation with around 250 on the payroll. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with relatively quick availability although if you have a 4 week notice period and still wish to apply, we would still encourage you to do so. Ideally we are looking for a candidate who would be in a position to commence by mid-May but our client is also open to options for candidates who are not available quite as quickly as that. Interviews will take place from early May for this opportunity. Offices are location in Melbourne's inner north, close to public transport links and some parking is also available. Up to 3 days per week can be worked from home. In this position you will report directly to the Finance Manager Typical day to day duties will involve: Supporting with end to end, fortnightly payroll processing for up to 250 staff Responsibility for superannuation, payroll tax and payroll reporting Dealing with complex payroll queries Award/EBA interpretation Posting to general ledger Reconciliation of payroll accounts Ownership of Workcover related reporting and reconciliations Overseeing processes around new hires, terminations and adjustments Continually searching for ways to improve processes and procedures Corporate credit card management across the organisation FBT and other ad hoc payroll related reporting Demonstrate general working knowledge around payroll legislation and governance Management of Work Cover reporting Single touch payroll This is a true end to end position which allows the successful applicant to take ownership of the payroll function. There will not be any staff management within the position although should you wish to take on some mentorship in the future, the organisation may hire a junior payroll officer at some point in the near future. Overall it's a really varied and exciting role with a great employer who offer flexibility, support and development. As stated, this role is full time, 38 hours per week. Your Profile You will have a background in Payroll with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position.
