The Production Manager – On-sites is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of multiple unmanned and remote production facilities across Victoria. This includes oversight of plant operations, maintenance execution, asset performance, customer supply continuity, and workforce leadership. The role ensures that all onsite production assets operate in compliance with regulatory and internal standards, while meeting customer demand, optimising plant reliability, and driving continuous improvement. The Production Manager leads a team of Plant Technicians and contractors, providing operational direction, technical support, and long‐term planning for maintenance and asset management.
Responsibilities
* Lead day‐to‐day operations of multiple remote and metropolitan onsite production facilities
* Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all plants
* Oversee plant startups, shutdowns, troubleshooting, and abnormal operations
* Respond rapidly to operational issues, coordinating resources to minimise customer and business impact
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of Plant Technicians and contractors
* Collaborate with logistics, ROC operators, engineering, and other internal teams to ensure seamless operations
* Act as key point of escalation for customer supply issues and operational disruptions
* Manage the maintenance system (CMMS), including work planning, scheduling, job closure, and record accuracy
* Lead site safety programs, including PTW, JSA, risk reviews, inductions, and contractor management
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or equivalent experience in industrial production environments
* More than five (5+) years' experience in plant operations, with at least three (3) years in leadership roles
* Strong mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation aptitude suitable for the role
* Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, CMMS systems, and reliability improvement
* Proven ability to lead autonomous teams across multiple sites
* Strong problem‐solving, troubleshooting, and decision‐making capability
* Experience with industrial safety systems (PTW, risk assessments, MHF compliance)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills required
* Ability to work flexibly and respond to after‐hours operational issues
