Key Responsibilities1.
Market Research and Opportunity IdentificationAnalyze market trends and identify new business opportunities within the plastics, packaging, and recycling industries.Identify businesses or sectors in need of sustainable waste management solutions or renewable materials, ensuring that GCR's offerings are positioned to meet these needs.2.
Strategic Relationship BuildingDevelop and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders such as manufacturers, suppliers, customers and logistics partners.Position GCR as a trusted partner for sustainable recycling services and renewable material solutions.
Develop long-term strategic contracts and service agreements with each account.Leverage your existing relations with large scale manufacturing plants, distributions centers, grocery chains, and municipalities to onboard new accounts with GCR.
In addition, the representative will be responsible for growing GCR's existing accounts3.
Sales and Revenue GenerationDevelop and execute strategic sales plans aimed at acquiring new clients and retaining existing accounts.
Equipment placement contracts.Sell GCR's products and services to businesses seeking to improve their sustainability efforts, increasing revenue through contracts and long-term partnerships.4.
Pricing and Contract NegotiationsCollaborate with Supply Chain Operations and Finance teams to develop competitive pricing strategies for suppliers and customers.Negotiate terms with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that meet both client needs and GCR's financial goals.Polymers Procurement and Purchasing Experience - Extensive experience in the procurement and purchasing of polymer materials, with a focus on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost optimization.Polymers Resin Sales and Marketing Experience - Proven track record in the sales and marketing of polymer resins, including market development, client relationship management, and revenue growth initiatives.5.
Strategic Sourcing & Category ManagementLead end-to-end procurement strategy development and execution across direct and/or indirect categories such as raw materials, packaging, logistics, or marketing services.Build and manage strategic partnerships with global suppliers to drive innovation, reliability, cost optimization, and long-term value creation.Experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within a global, matrixed organization.Proven success in leading large-scale sourcing initiatives and delivering measurable value through negotiation, category strategy, and supplier innovation.Deep knowledge of global supply markets, procurement best practices, and sourcing technology platforms.Digital Procurement & Analytics - leverage digital tools and data platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Power BI) to drive transparency, insight-based decision making, and process efficiency.Risk Management & Compliance - proactively assesses supply chain risks and ensures adherence to compliance, quality, and governance standards across global operations.6.
Account Management and RetentionBuild long-lasting relationships with clients by identifying opportunities to expand services and ensure satisfaction.Maintain high levels of client retention by delivering value and continuously improving customer experience.Drive growth within the Plastics Division with a strong focus on expanding supply channelsIdentify and secure new supply sources to meet existing demand across key locations, executing initiatives with a sense of urgencyProactively engage potential clients through various outreach methods, including cold-calling7.
Customer Education and EngagementConduct presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients, educating them on the value of GCR's services.Advocate for sustainable practices and demonstrate how GCR's solutions reduce environmental impact, align with corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and optimize resource efficiency.8.
Industry Advocacy and RepresentationRepresent GCR at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance visibility and strengthen relationships within the sustainability and recycling industries.Position GCR as a leader in the recycling sector and advocate for the integration of sustainable practices across industries.IV.
What We're Looking For5+ years of experience in procurement, sales, trading, or strategic growth in a B2B environment, preferably commodity trading within the plastics, packaging, or recycling industries.Direct experience in plastic procurement, sales, or tradingProven network of suppliers and customers within the plastics industryProven ability to execute commercial strategies that drive measurable growthExceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.Managerial skills with a deep understanding of market dynamics and commercial risk.Bachelor's Degree PreferredKey Skills and CompetenciesProven track record of success in new business development, procurement, and sales, with a focus on securing new accounts and building strategic partnerships.Strong analytical and financial acumen to optimize pricing and profitability.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and procurement skills.Ability to effectively present to and engage high-level stakeholders.Knowledge of the recycling, packaging, or plastics industries is highly preferred.Established network across key industries: demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic relationships with industrial manufacturing plants, large-scale distribution centers, municipalities, and leading national grocery chains.V.
