FMR Investments is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health, Safety and Training Coordinator to immediately join our team at the Gordon Sirdar Gold Mine. This role plays a vital part in achieving our development and production targets.
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Occupational Health, Safety and Training Coordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring the implementation of, and adherence to health, safety, and training standards across site. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring safety and training programs, conducting audits and inspections, and guiding employees and management to ensure a safe and productive workplace. This role is central to fostering a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement in our operations.
Location: Based at our Gordon Sirdar Gold Mine approximately 55km north‐east of Kalgoorlie
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and monitor safety and training systems, including coordinating and delivering training programs, maintaining accurate competency records, and supporting site safety and training objectives in line with operational plans.
Conduct drug and alcohol testing as required.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify hazards, support risk management processes, and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and deliver accurate reporting on audits, incidents, safety trends, and compliance requirements, while promoting continuous improvement and hazard reporting.
Promote hazard reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Maintain high personal standards of safety, performance, and teamwork.
Adhere to all company policies, environmental standards, and site procedures (including the WHS Act & Regulations).
Support site managers with safety initiatives and rehabilitation/return‐to‐work processes.
Provide input into pre‐start and safety meetings.
Communicate effectively and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
Be flexible and willing to undertake additional tasks as directed.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY, SYSTEMS & TOOLS
Use and maintain training databases and compliance systems such as Skytrust.
Operate and manage drug and alcohol testing equipment.
Apply safety management systems, emergency response tools, and hazard reporting platforms.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years' experience in health, safety, and training roles in industrial or mining environments.
Experience in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Australian recognised Certificate IV or above in Workplace Health and Safety.
Strong knowledge of safety legislation and regulations.
Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
Physically fit and able to work in hot, secure, and confined environments.
Australian recognised Training and Assessment qualification (Cert IV TAE).
First Aid or Emergency Response training.
Previous experience in gold mining operations.
ICAM investigation training.
Strong technical knowledge in the gold resource sector operations or mining industry.
Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Pronto.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
