Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Dementia Educator to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health.
Located within the National Training Centre, the Dementia Educator supports the delivery of Dementia Training Australia's education and training programs, as part of a national team delivering specialist dementia training that is of high quality, impactful, engaging and supports contemporary adult learning principles. This position will undertake local and interstate travel.

Dementia Training Australia (DTA) is a consortium funded by the Australian Government to provide nationwide, high, quality education and training on the care of people living with dementia. Established in October 2016, our mission is to improve the care and wellbeing of both people living with dementia and staff delivering their care. DTA combines the expertise of four universities, University of Wollongong, La Trobe University, Queensland University of Technology, University of Western Australia, Dementia Australia and associate partnership with University of Tasmania Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, to deliver a coordinated national approach to dementia training for individuals and organisations. Central coordination is provided by consortium lead, the University of Wollongong. DTA (QUT) is responsible for the development of training that focus on the topic of Changed Behaviour..
What You Need To Succeed
* Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in relevant discipline e.g. nursing, allied health, psychology with significant clinical experience working with people living with dementia in a community, residential aged care or acute care setting.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering aged care or dementia focused teaching/training and developing teaching materials for online education and other forms of flexible delivery, and knowledge of adult education principles and practices.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write detailed program reports.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals and key members of organisations.
* Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including capacity to manage competing priorities in a busy workplace.
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent with experience and competencies to develop and deliver multi-modal training for health professionals.
