The Role: Graduate Electrical Design Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to join our supportive and high-performing engineering team.
Working closely with the Electrical Design Manager and senior engineers, you will gain hands‐on experience delivering electrical designs for public lighting and power distribution on a wide range of infrastructure projects across Victoria. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build a strong technical foundation in electrical and lighting design within a consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
With guidance and mentoring, you will:
* Assist with site inspections to collect electrical and lighting asset data
* Support the preparation of detailed underground and overhead electrical designs for:
o Powercor
o Ausnet
o United Energy
* Produce drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
* Learn to apply:
o Victorian Electrical Supply Industry (VESI) standards
o relevant Australian codes
* Work closely with internal design and engineering teams for coordination and review
* Support project delivery to meet quality, time and budget requirements
What You'll Bring
* Recently completed (or near completion of) a Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
* Strong interest in electrical design and infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
* Understanding of electrical principles and willingness to learn distributor standards
* Strong communication (both written and verbal) and collaboration skills
* High attention to detail and proactive attitude
* Ability to work well in a team and take feedback positively
* Previous industry experience or internships are advantageous but not essential.
