Aussie Kids Kindergartens is a privately owned childcare service located in Mermaid Waters, on the beautiful Gold Coast. A recent opportunity has created a rare vacancy within our service and we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Chef/ Qualified Educator to join our team.
The successful applicant will possess a passion for superior meal planning using fresh ingredients, preparing high quality and nutritious meals and educating children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.
The Assistant Chef/Qualified Educator position encompasses the following:-
* Planning and preparation of nutritious meals for children from birth to 6 years of age
* Understanding and catering to the diverse allergy and dietary requirements of children
* Assisting in implementing our Foodie Fundays, as part of our Wellness Program (which will include children's cooking classes)
* Implementing the service's Food Safety Plan
* Delivering consistently high quality food and presentation to all work practices
* Undertaking all record reporting requirements
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, parents, children and the wider community
* Responsible for the safe and clean conditions of the kitchen, to meet council requirements
* Placing of kitchen orders, whilst adhering to allocated budgets
* Responsible for kitchen audits to meet regulatory requirements
* Nurturing, caring for and educating children aged 6 weeks - 6 years
* Assisting in planning and implementing a play-based, emergent curriculum in line with the Early Years Learning Framework
* Delivering consistent high quality care and presentation to all work practices
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, families, children and the wider community
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Food Safety Level 1 and/or 2 qualification (or willing to study at company expense)
* Food Safety Supervisor qualification (or willing to study at company expense)
* Diploma or Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care
* Working with Children Check
* Experience essential
* A passion and enthusiasm for cooking
* A thorough understanding of allergy management and prevention
* A knowledge of nutrition and understanding of menu planning for children
* A desire to create nutritious and appealing meals for children
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
* Senior First Aid and CPR, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
* A passion and enthusiasm for learning
* A desire to create warm and inviting learning spaces for children
* Be able to enhance a great team environment
* Knowledge of current regulations and Early Years Learning Framework
