The Team:
The Anaesthetic Care Unit team provides safe, high quality care to patients/clients intra-operatively during elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability and provides acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services for the Tasmania Health Service Hospitals South (THS Hospitals South) and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from THS Hospitals North and THS Hospitals Northwest. The RHH provides elective and emergency surgical services for the THS Hospitals South.
The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all surgical procedures with the exception of transplant surgery, complex paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiac surgery, major paediatric orthopaedic surgery and cochlear implant surgery.
The Role:
* Supports and works collaboratively with less experienced members of the healthcare team and participates in orientation, precepting, clinical teaching, overseeing learning experiences, and goal setting for anaesthetic nursing.
* Provides feedback to novices on goals and standards of practice against organisational and best practice determined performance criterion.
* Supports the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving learning and development goals for the clinical area/service.
You will need:
* Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting.
* Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 70 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $102,439 - $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
* Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
