Permanent position with a unique client based in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs - full time or part time hours

Our client is a Victorian State-owned entity and iconic tourist attraction, attracting large numbers to their location in the far Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Due to a change of team structure and requirements, our client is looking to welcome a qualified boilermaker with a great attitude to join their team.
**Your new role**
Based in their workshop, this diverse position is primarily required to carry out running maintenance and restoration of historic locomotives, carriages & wagons and other equipment. This is a rare opportunity to work with a team of talented trades and craftspeople ensuring high quality maintenance and operation of locomotives and carriages.
**What you'll need to succeed**
Our client requires someone who is a skilled tradesperson who is a team player, enjoys learning new things and wants to contribute to a unique tourism experience. To be successful, you will also need:
- A trade qualification as a welder or boilermaker
- Experienced in a range of welding processes including : MIG, TIG, MMAW, Gas fusion welding, brazing and silver soldering
- Experience in using workshop machinery for drilling, cutting, grinding, milling, and turning would be an advantage
- Pressure vessel manufacture and repair experience is highly regarded
- Must be able to follow detailed weld procedures and be qualified to undertake non-destructive examinations
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings, accurately work to tolerances and perform precision measurements
**What you'll get in return**
- $75,000 + Super + Leave Entitlements
- Salary increase after 6 months to $79,600
