Full‐time position based in Geraldton, Western Australia. Salary range $117,477 – $135,470 per annum.
About the Position
An exciting full‐time permanent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our team as Coordinator Governance & Risk. In this varied role, you will lead a small but busy team in ensuring the effective coordination of governance, risk management, and statutory processes within the Corporate Compliance branch.
Key Accountabilities
* Coordinate and report on the City's compliance systems which include the compliance management plan, compliance calendar, risk management framework and insurance portfolios.
* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations under key legislation.
* Act as the City's Freedom of Information (FOI) Coordinator and Public Interest Disclosure Officer.
* Manage the Audit Committee agenda, minutes and reports.
Position Requirements
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in governance, risk or statutory services in government agencies and ideally will possess a degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies or Risk Management and relevant experience, or a lesser qualification with significant experience.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated experience in providing advice in the areas of corporate compliance, risk or governance services in government agencies.
* Sound knowledge of the interpretation and application of various pieces of legislation and policies, including the Local Government Act 1995, Freedom of Information Act 1992 and Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003.
* High level of interpersonal, communication, problem‐solving and judgment skills with the ability to incorporate multiple views and interests into an agreed recommendation.
* Ability to communicate and lead a small team and to maintain high levels of personal integrity, confidentiality, discretion and ethical standards.
* Degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies or Risk Management and relevant experience, or a lesser qualification with significant experience.
Remuneration and Benefits
A salary starting from $117,477 per annum or $59.4518 per hour will be offered, dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
