Joining the organisation means becoming part of a purpose-driven team that values strong relationships, continuous improvement, and culturally safe service delivery.To learn more, visit: Community-Focused LeadershipBloodwood Tree is looking for a full-time Community Services Coordinator, based in South Hedland, WA.Reporting to the Community Services Manager, you will lead and improve three established community services programs, with a strong hands-on focus on the Hedland Aboriginal Home Ownership Program (HAHOP). This role has been created as part of an internal restructure to strengthen leadership, coordination, and service consistency across existing programs. This role supports the Community Patrol program operating across South Hedland and surrounding areas. Balancing direct client support with people leadership and stakeholder engagement, you will play a key role in improving processes, supporting staff capability, and delivering stronger outcomes for individuals, families, and the wider community.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading, improving, and strengthening the Hedland Aboriginal Home Ownership Program, Community Connect, and Mini Mart services, with a strong focus on home ownership pathwayManaging an active home ownership caseload, supporting clients to transition from social housing into sustainable home ownership or private rentalProviding one-on-one client support including intake, assessment, advocacy, and personalised housing plansLeading, supervising, and coaching a small team to improve performance, accountability, and service deliveryBuilding culturally safe, respectful relationships with clients, families, Elders, and community partnersStrengthening partnerships with housing providers, government agencies, and external servicesMonitoring program outcomes, compliance, reporting, and funding requirementsDriving continuous improvement by fixing unclear processes, strengthening systems, and addressing legacy issues within existing programsUpholding governance, WHS, and organisational policies and proceduresManaging complex client matters, including conflict or challenging behaviours, with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.Please Note: This role requires flexibility, including weekend work and shifts that may extend to 7:00pm.
The Right Person, Not Just the Right SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will bring experience in community services, tenancy systems, housing pathways, or home ownership programs, along with a current WA Driver’s Licence.You will demonstrate strong cultural awareness and confidence working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities. Experience working within the Pilbara or Kimberley regions will be highly regarded.Additionally, you will ideally bring:Knowledge of tenancy management, social housing systems, or home ownership pathwaysExposure to government-funded programs, contracts, KPIs, and compliance frameworksExperience managing or contributing to an active client caseloadStaff supervision, coaching, or leadership experienceStrong administrative, reporting, and documentation capabilityConfidence handling conflict, sensitive matters, and complex client situationsAbility to obtain a Passenger Transport Driver (PDD) authorisation (support provided)As our ideal candidate, you are practical, culturally aware, and solutions-focused.
