About This Opportunity
School of Communication and Arts is seeking two academics for English Literature: a Lecturer (Level B) and a Senior Lecturer (LevelC). Positions commence January 2027 and are based at the StLucia campus.
Academic LevelB salary range: $119,462–$141,545 plus 17% superannuation.
Academic LevelC salary range: $145,961–$168,043 plus 17% superannuation.
Key areas of interest include contemporary 21st‐century fiction and poetry, global and transnational literatures, Australian literature, literary theory, digital and environmental humanities, and gender, sexuality, identity, and diversity studies.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, design curricula, coordinate modules, assess students, provide academic counseling, and adhere to university teaching standards.
* Research: Build a research program, collaborate on projects, secure and manage external funding, publish in peer‐reviewed journals, and contribute to scholarly discussions.
* Supervision & Development: Supervise undergraduate, Honours, and research students, recruit and manage research staff, give performance feedback, and support professional development.
* Citizenship & Service: Engage in university service roles, mentor colleagues, contribute to committees, develop external partnerships, and uphold institutional values.
Qualifications
* PhD in English Literature or a closely related field.
* Lecturer (LevelB): Evidence of growing teaching and research profile, publications in refereed journals, conference presentations, successful external funding, quality teaching record, course coordination experience, and student supervision.
* Senior Lecturer (LevelC): Established national and international reputation, sustained publication record, strong external funding history, high‐quality teaching across levels, leadership in program development, and proven supervision record.
