We are proud to be one of the few leading international specialist environmental consultancies. Our growing Ecology and Biodiversity team is seeking a Graduate Botanist to join our Perth Office. We are a collaborative and supportive group with a strong team culture, and we’re keen to connect with graduates who have a passion for botany and all things plants. In this role, you will be assisting senior staff, undertaking field surveys, plant identification, data entry, GIS and reporting. As a self-starter, you bring confidence in your technical ability, a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn, with the outcome of learning from experienced colleagues to become a Botanical Consultant. Responsibilities Provide a professional service to our clients and colleagues, in both office based and fieldwork activities Assist in field surveys across Western Australia for varying clients and industries. We also have opportunities to assist in ecological surveys throughout Australia from our other SLR offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Adelaide Understand State and Federal environmental legislation Assist in writing technical reports Assist in managing and analysing data collected from the field Willingness to travel to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programs Skills and Experience Provide a professional service to our clients and colleagues, in both office based and fieldwork activities An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or in another related field Keenness in undertaking flora and vegetation field surveys and monitoring programs.
