Love cooking? Join the team at Southern Cross Health Service as a Cook, brining your passion for food to a role that supports the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff. You’ll be responsible for the day-today preparation and distribution of meals and beverages, helping deliver quality nutritious food with care. This is a part time position at 42 hours per fortnight with casual appointments also considered.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

About the OPPORTUNITY

This position is responsible for the preparation of all meals for the hospital and meals on wheels, supervising kitchen cleanliness, associated equipment and stores, training of kitchen staff and adherence of kitchen practices to Foodsafe Guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will have…

* Relevant experience in cooking in a setting similar to this position
* Good understanding of appropriate hygiene and food handling (Foodsafe) standards
* Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
* Good organisational and problem solving skills
* Knowledge of Foodsafe guidelines and safe practice
* Possession of a current ‘C’ or ‘C(a)’ class drivers license
