Job Overview:
The Team Leader City Parks is responsible for leading a team in providing efficient and effective regular maintenance to the streetscapes, parks and reserves within the City of Mandurah.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the community's recreational spaces are well-maintained and safe for use.
Main Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining a regular maintenance schedule
* Guiding the work of a small team and providing on-the-job training including apprentices
* Maintaining required quality standards
* Providing leadership to ensure safety standards are maintained
* Ensuring the proper operation and security of materials, plant and equipment
Requirements:
* Certificate III or IV in Horticulture or Turf Management or equivalent qualification
* Current unrestricted MR (Medium Rigid) class national driver's licence
* Three to five years' experience developing and maintaining parks and reserves
* Previous supervisory experience and conducting staff training
* Current certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) and Traffic Controller
* Current White Card
* Experience and knowledge in the use of tablets, smartphones, MS Office Packages and scheduling software
* Practical experience with horticultural machinery, mowers and related equipment
* Understanding of mowing maintenance techniques, methods and quality control procedures
* Interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to read maps and plans
