The Manager, Audit is a key member of the Regulatory Operations Branch, responsible for overseeing and managing two primary functions: conducting assurance audits against an annual schedule and compliance audits targeting known non-compliance areas. While it is an existing role, its scope is significantly revised as a result of legislative amendments, and it includes a significant focus on building new audit capabilities within the organisation. The Audit Manager's responsibilities encompass the coordination of assurance audit schedules, preparation of audit scopes, execution of audits, and driving compliance improvements within the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program.
The position is responsible for:
1. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive bi-annual assurance audit schedule for all accredited persons in the VEU Program.
2. Planning and executing compliance audits to evaluate adherence to by accredited persons of internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
3. Developing and implementing procedures for all assurance and compliance audits as part of the new legislative functions of the commission.
4. Developing and implementing training programs to enhance audit capabilities across the Compliance and Assurance team.
