Metcash Central Region's operational management of suppliers, product ranging and inventory replenishment is led by our Merchandise Manager. This role optimizes stock levels to meet business targets, minimizes aged inventory, and supports customer demand through effective planning and supplier collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
 * Manage budgeted stock levels and achieve strategic purchasing goals.
 * Reduce aged stock below 5% of total inventory value and manage code dates on items with BBD.
 * Schedule inbound trucks to minimize cost of returns exposure and liaise with stakeholders to alleviate waiting times if delays occur.
 * Lead the Central Region Stock Team to drive high performance and development through coaching and crucial conversations.
 * Maintain customs duty documentation and liaise with customs agents.
 * Work with Logistics Operations Management team to reduce operational costs.
 * Review SKU portfolio to ensure right products ranged and correct stock levels.
Requirements
 * Experience in FMCG operations is preferred.
 * Procurement and Inventory management experience is required.
 * Leading teams is essential.
 * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are necessary.
 * Critical thinking skills are required.
 * Knowledge of OH&S practices is essential.
