Description Quality Automation Engineer – Join a High-Impact Transformation Program This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. What’s the role? We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Engineer to help elevate our automation maturity across critical banking platforms. This role involves API validation, test automation, and close collaboration within agile squads. You will work within Westpac’s mesh architecture and CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust quality coverage across distributed systems. Key Responsibilities Transform manual regression test cases into automated test suites for key banking journeys. Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using Playwright. Perform API testing across microservices using RestAssured. Collaborate with agile teams to define test scope, acceptance criteria, and quality benchmarks. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins. Manage and maintain test environments to ensure consistent and reliable execution of automated suites. Log, triage, and document defects with clear impact analysis to support rapid resolution. What do I need? Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on Software Engineering. 5–7 years of experience in functional and automation testing within enterprise environments. Proficiency in Selenium with Java, Playwright, Cypress or similar automation tools. Strong API testing skills, including RESTful services and contract validation. Programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript, or Python. Experience with microservices testing and distributed systems. Hands-on experience in agile delivery with active squad collaboration. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems Why join us?
