The Excelsior Hotel is in the heart of Brompton, a vibrant up and coming city fringe suburb on the doorstep of Plant 4 Bowden.
Meals are served all day Monday to Sunday 12.00pm - 8.30pm.
About the Role
Prepare and cook high quality food according to the menu guidelines and recipes so as it is delivered to the customer in a timely manner.
Key tasks include:
* prepares a wide variety of foods such as vegetables, spices, meats, salads, seafood, etc in accordance with prescribed recipes
* utilise the full range of cooking methods
* test foods being cooked for quality
* provide high quality food and service
* respond to orders in a timely manner
* manage ingredients and supplies for your station
* collaborate with colleagues regarding menu preparation
* supervise and training junior staff
* comply with hygiene, and health and safety regulations
Qualifications and Skills
* Certificate IV or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery
* at least 3 years recent experience as a Chef and/or Cook
* food safe qualification
* demonstrated knowledge and experience in food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards
* ability to work as part of a small team and under limited supervision
* available for a seven (7) day roster - lunch and dinner
