We are looking for experienced footwear repairers who can perform a variety of repair and restoration services. You will be directly responsible for individual customers' shoes and boots, working on them from start to finish. Your work will be integral to SoleHeeled's continued growth and success.
**What you'll be doing**:
- Replacing parts, including soles, heels, zippers, hardware, straps and elastic gussets.
- Using machinery, including sole stitchers and finishing machines.
- Leather restoration work — cleaning, conditioning, polishing and recolouring.
- Repairing holes and tears in uppers.
**What we're expecting**:
- Passion for footwear restoration and confidence in SoleHeeled's vision.
- At least 12 months of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with different shoe constructions and leather / rubber parts.
- Experience working on premium fashion goods with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work with varying degrees of speed and attention to detail, depending on the type of repair being performed.
- Experience working in teams with mínimal supervision.
- Resourcefulness and a readiness to achieve the best possible results.
- Permanent rights to work in Australia.
**Bonus skills / experience**:
- Experience with mixing dyes and paints to match colours.
- Willingness to supervise and teach junior staff.
- Ability to offer excellent customer service whenever necessary.
- Ability to source products from suppliers and manage inventory.
- Ability to perform related services, e.g. bag repair / restoration, bag making, shoemaking, engraving, key duplication, watch battery replacement.
