Far North Fabrication Pty Ltd has an opportunity for an experienced Boilermaker / Welder looking to take the next step in their career.
We are looking for a supervisor who is comfortable working locally but are also flexible to travel and work away from home at a variety of worksites nationally.
Far North Fabrication Pty Ltd has a fixed base of operation in Cairns Qld, is a family owned and operated Australian fabrication, ship repair and boat building business specialising in the construction, refit and maintenance of vessels for Defence, Commercial and Private sectors. Due to higher demand, we are seeking to recruit specialised skill sets for delivery of service and products into the Maritime industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a hardworking and committed team, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining safety protocols, and optimizing production processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a productive and safe work environment. As a supervisor, you will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members, troubleshooting issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. What you need
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Trade qualified boilermaker, fabricator, welder, or experience in a similar supervisory role within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and quality standards.
Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding processes, and machinery operation.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Relevant certifications in welding, fabrication, or safety. DNV and or Lloyds certification will be required.
Strong computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.).
Experience in development of weld procedures.
Ability to initiate, coordinate and deliver projects as per company standards and client specifications.
