About the Role
As a specialist auxiliary firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents in your community.
You will promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities, helping to develop a culture of prevention and preparedness.
To ensure your effectiveness on the fire ground, you will need to maintain your competencies through regular drills and training courses provided by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).
The role requires you to operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to emergency incidents and contribute to community education activities.
* Maintain competencies through regular training and drills.
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
Requirements:
* Australian Permanent Resident Status.
* Employer's written consent to attend emergencies.
* Live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
