About the role
The Section Manager Financial Operations will provide day to day leadership to a team of professionals responsible for the delivery of the functions for rates, revenue and accounts receivable and accounts payable. The role is accountable for all the routine deliverables of these functions and will be required to actively contribute to strategies aimed at Council's financial sustainability through policies and processes that achieve best value for Council.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* a degree qualification in Business, Finance or relevant field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in similar role combined with ongoing professional development
* extensive experience in a similar role with demonstrated extensive experience in financial operations include rates and revenue, accounts receivable, credit management and other transactional financial operations
* significant experience in rates and financial modelling
* demonstrated strong leadership capabilities and behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching/ mentoring and change management
* comprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993, Valuation of Land Act 1916 and relevant regulations and industry guidelines (as may be amended from time to time) in relation to rates, charges, services and accounting requirements
* proven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findings
* demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, innovation and promotion of continuous workplace improvement, and working in a politically sensitive environment.

* This role offers a competitive total remuneration package commencing from $182,205.02 per annum plus a leaseback or vehicle allowance valued at $207.31 per week.
* We have a permanent full-time role available
* This role will be able to access a 19 day month
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
* This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
