About the Role As the Director – Conduct and Regulatory Law, you will be responsible for leading the Conduct and Regulatory team and providing strategic legal advice to support the University's business objectives.
This is a leadership role within the OGC and university.
This role will work closely with the Director - Commercial Law to support the General Counsel and Executive Director Risk and Compliance to lead and manage the university's legal function.
This role involves overseeing all legal matters relating to regulatory compliance for Higher Ed, commercial transactions to support onshore and offshore education initiatives, people and conduct related matters for both staff and students including dispute resolution.
The Director - Conduct and Regulatory Law will work closely with senior management, business units, and external stakeholders to support a broad range of university activities and advise about ensuring legal compliance.
Successful applicants will have; Been admitted as an Australian legal practitioner Completed undergraduate qualification or extensive experience and management expertise Significant Post-admission experience as a lawyer which enables provision of legal services in an in-house role Experience in a leadership role and/or mentorship of legal practitioners Demonstrated legal drafting skills and commercial acumen.
Demonstrated knowledge across a range of relevant legal areas such as employment law, dispute resolution, regulatory/compliance law, corporate law, intellectual property and/or information technology Comprehensive understanding of university structures, policies, procedures and systems Remuneration and Benefits A comprehensive salary package will be on offer to the successful candidate.
This role is classified as an SSG2.
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis .
