* Salary Range: $113,574 - $125,720 plus super

About the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services. We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100 agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.
What you will do
* Implement and maintain robust network infrastructure components including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, switches, and routers to ensure resilient and secure network solutions
* Deliver continuous network monitoring, performance tuning, and proactive analysis to identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact business operations.
* Monitor and assess network capacity and performance to ensure alignment with current and future user demands.
* Adhere to established operational procedures to ensure consistent execution of network activities and minimise the risk of unplanned service outages.
* Maintain and follow operational procedures to ensure consistent execution of tasks and reduce the likelihood of unplanned outages.
* Review and validate changes to network configurations and equipment to maintain stability and security and compliance with best practice standards.
* Analyse operational data, including incident and change records, to identify trends, record recurring issues and drive continuous improvement in network reliability and availability.
About You
You will need to be available to participate in a 24×7 on‐call roster.
* The successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in network engineering and operations.
* Professional certificates (any or more of the following are highly preferred):
* Hands‐on experience in managing and maintaining a complex enterprise network environment, including:
* Wireless LAN (Cisco WLC and APs)
* Routing/Switching (BGP, OSPF, STP, etc.)
* WAN Technologies (SD‐WAN)
* Core Services (DNS/DHCP, SSL/TLS Certificate Management)
* It would also be advantageous to have the following skills:
* Scripting and automation knowledge are an advantage.
* Strong problem‐solving mindset and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in documentation and technical reporting.
* Ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure.
