Job Summary:
The role involves conducting routine and non-routine maintenance tasks in energy storage systems, ensuring optimal system performance and efficiency.
* Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on inverters and other equipment
* Engaging in essential work to guarantee system reliability
This position plays a vital role in supporting Australia's energy transition by working on large-scale battery energy storage systems that provide firming capacity and stability to the National Electricity Grid.
The Eraring BESS is designed to support renewable project development by charging during the day when solar energy is abundant and discharging into the grid during peak periods. Located at Eraring, the BESS utilises existing transmission infrastructure, minimising the need for additional construction.
* All three stages of the Eraring BESS are currently under construction
* Stage one and three (460MW each with a dispatch duration of four hours) are scheduled to come online in Q4 2025
* Stage two (240MW with a dispatch duration of four hours) will launch in Q1 2027
* Combined energy storage capacity across all stages will be 2.8 GWh-enabling grid stability and supporting the integration of more renewable energy into the system
