Batchfire Resources is the owner of Callide Mine in Central Queensland, an open-cut coal operation located 120km southwest of Gladstone and 20km northeast of the thriving regional township of Biloela. The mine has operated since 1944 producing coal primarily for domestic power generation, alumina refining and export markets. Under the ownership of Batchfire Resources (October 2016) and recently under new leadership, the business has an exciting transformation journey ahead and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor – Technology and Mine Control to assist in the delivery of all activities and functions relating to Mine Technology Systems.
The career opportunity
The role of the Supervisor – Technology and Mine Control presents an exciting career opportunity to be a critical team member providing specialised support to Batchfire's Callide Mine.
You will assist in planning, governance, design and implementing an integrated, technology-based operational business intelligence and reporting system to support the requirements of all elements of the business and enable informed decision making. You will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of data captured and reported in the Mine Information Reporting System (MIRS). You will provide direction, oversight and guidance for Mining control systems Technicians including technical and strategic direction during systems implementation and sustainment. You will also provide hardware and systems support to provide accurate data capture, and assist in continual improvement to mine control functions, workflows and decision making. You will be responsible for contractor management in line with the mine Safety and Health Management (SHMS) system.
This is a permanent, full-time position working a Monday to Friday roster at Callide Mine near Biloela.
Who are we looking for?
You will have an Undergraduate Degree in Mining, mechatronics or similar; or Trade qualification in Auto Electrical, Radio Communication or Industrial IT; or Significant experience with mining technologies, communications and networking systems. You will also be familiar with mining processes and have experience in a similar role, ideally within a mining organisation and have a knowledge of mining processes.
You are a great communicator, organiser and have the ability to develop trusting relationships across all parts of the organisation. Your exceptional problem-solving skills and determination to achieve best practice will enable your success in this role. Your leadership and mentoring capabilities are drawn from both experience and skills.
