Job Title: Leadership Role in Veterinary Laboratory Facility
The Northern Territory's veterinary laboratory facility in Berrimah is seeking a leader to advance your veterinary career. As the Director of this facility, you will hold a senior leadership role within the biosecurity team and provide expert advice to the Minister and Chief Veterinary Officer on veterinary laboratory issues.
* Provide scientific leadership to a diverse team of professional specialists, technical and administrative support staff providing diagnostic laboratory services.
* Plan, implement, and evaluate research projects.
* Oversee the operational performance of the veterinary laboratory.
* Have oversight of the work unit's budget.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will represent the Territory on national and international panels and participate in biosecurity emergence responses. To be successful, you require a relevant tertiary qualification in Veterinary Science and a postgraduate degree in an appropriate laboratory discipline.
A strong knowledge of and experience in the diagnostics of tropical animal diseases and an understanding of the domestic and international trade protocols for terrestrial and aquatic animals are essential.
