Glasgow Engineering is a general engineering machine shop specialising in breakdown repairs. We also overhaul a wide range of gearboxes, pumps and provide offsite labour for various projects.
We are looking for a trade qualified, experienced skilled metal machinist / fitter to help us keep production on time and maintain our high standards.
About the role
* Must be competent on manual lathes (medium/large) and milling machines.
* Must be able to achieve fine tolerances and be able to read engineering drawings.
* Must have fitting experience
* Operation of horizontal and/or vertical borers would be advantageous.
Skills and experience
Fitter/Machinist - Duties include but are not limited to:
* Turning using small and medium sized manual lathes
* Milling using small and medium sized manual miller
* Use radial arm drilling machine
* Horizontal/vertical boring
* Fitting, both onsite and off
Our work is varied and provides the opportunity to take on a wide range of challenges. The right candidate must be a motivated self-starter with at least 1 year recent post trade experience.
The remuneration package will be negotiated in line with the skills and experience you bring to the role.
