About Our Team: CAMHS Crisis Connect (CCC) provides a single point of contact for children in community settings across metropolitan Perth (including metropolitan emergency departments) who require urgent mental health support, brief intervention and/or assessment.
Support is offered in a variety of different mediums including mental health assessments in PCH emergency department (ED), and tele-health assessments for young people into metro adult ED's as well as a 24/7 crisis line accessible to all young people, their families and carers in addition to professionals such as teachers, GPs and school psychologists seeking expert advice.
This role will provide support to families and carers of young people accessing the CCC intervention (CCCI).
CCCI service offers an acute follow-up service for those young people who present to emergency department in crisis providing time-limited psychological therapy (4-6 sessions over 2 weeks) aimed at addressing the presenting issue identified at referral.

Utilise your Lived Experience and perspective of walking alongside and supporting a child or young person who has experienced mental health challenges, to provide peer support to families and carers of young people accessing CCCI.
Design, co-develop, and evaluate peer interventions, offering both individual and group support grounded in recovery, trauma-informed principles and peer work values.
Build trusting relationships with families and carers, providing them with emotional and practical support, and empowering them with recovery-oriented tools.
Contribute to education and training programs, participate in research, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards.
Be part of a dedicated team committed to promoting positive mental health outcomes and continuous improvement within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
As a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will assist families and carers to identify their needs and navigate the mental health system, bringing empowerment, hope and connection to support better mental health outcomes.
As such, to be considered for this role you will need to have both:
Substantial lived experience of caring for a child or young person through mental health challenges and recovery, combined with:An ability to meaningfully and purposefully use your lived experience to provide peer support to the family and carers of young people who access our service.Completion of Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, or equivalent or progressing towards completion is desirable. You will be asked to provide a brief outline of your lived experience of caring for a child or young person through their mental health recovery journey as part of the written application process.

About our CAMHS Directorates Community CAMHS – Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.Specialist Services and Day Programs – The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone.
