Overview
Energy infrastructure projects in Queensland, particularly pumped hydro energy storage projects, will be supported by this role. You will play a part in delivering our purpose to make things possible for a better Queensland, assisting with the environmental, social and economic impact assessment process for energy infrastructure projects. The role also collaborates with stakeholders, works proactively with proponents on approvals, provides technical advice, and finds workable solutions that achieve the best environmental and community outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team by undertaking research, analysis, assessment and interpretation of complex issues for energy infrastructure projects and major projects, and for the use of project delivery mechanisms under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (SDPWO Act).
* Assist and support project coordination, management and whole‑of‑government consideration of energy infrastructure projects, considering environmental, economic and social impacts for coordinated projects under the SDPWO Act and the Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Act 2017.
* Assist in preparing briefing notes, policy papers, reports, speeches, Cabinet submissions, meeting minutes, procurement documentation and other material to assist in the coordination of statutory processes, including coordination with government agencies, community groups and the private sector on strategic planning, infrastructure policy, major project assessment, project approvals and land tenure issues.
* Provide administrative support to project teams by developing and implementing effective administrative and business improvement initiatives.
