About the Role
The First Nations Community Coordinator plays a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong relationships with First Nations families.
As a trusted member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the voices and preferences of these families are at the forefront of our decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake observations of children in their natural environment to assess functioning and support needs.
* Collaborate with First Nations families to establish meaningful goals and track progression toward these objectives.
* Provide community connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area.
* Travel across the region to engage with families and communities in their homes.
About You
This is an Identified Position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
Essential Requirements
* Affirmation of Aboriginality confirmed by a common seal and a reference from an Aboriginal organisation or community group.
* Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood or Allied Health is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with child protection principles and practices.
* Valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel across Northern NSW.
* Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
