Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of short, medium and long-term QCS Academy strategies and plans which are aligned to and support the achievement of QCS' strategic vision and objectives.
* Provide executive leadership and management of the operation of the QCS Academy, business functions including administration, financial, asset and human resource management.
* Provide high quality advice and information to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, Minister and other members of QCS's Executive Leadership Team on matters relating to the QCS Academy to support improved policy development, planning, management and operational performance.
* Lead the development of robust, fit for purpose, and integrated policies, systems, frameworks and processes for QCS Academy functions and ensure consistent implementation across the organisation.
* Identify current and emerging issues affecting the delivery of corrective services and learning and development frameworks, and lead innovation and continuous improvement in learning and development program delivery to meet current and future workforce capability needs.
* Lead a team of specialists to build leadership, operational and specialist capability, with particular focus on custodial, community corrections and specialist operations.
* Proactively develop productive working relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders to understand and influence strategic corrective services and learning and development frameworks and outcomes.
* Identify and consult with other training providers on best practice approaches to staff training, learning and development and quality service provision and ensure industry standards for training programs are maintained
* Ensure learning and development data analytics and reporting capabilities and processes to facilitate accurate and informed decisions about the performance of learning and development performance.
* Actively contribute to the broader QCS executive leadership team and implement strategies to ensure results and achieved.
* Demonstrate behaviours that reflect public service values and ethics.
* Manage the QCS Academy responsibilities, including fostering a professional environment that values performance, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, capability development, professional growth, continuous improvement and best practice outcomes.
* Undertake the roles and responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer, Queensland Corrective Services Registered Training organisation and ensure QCS meets its compliance obligations and continues to be a sector leading RTO.
* Represent the QCS at state and national level regarding correctional learning and development, including as the QCS representative on the national Public Skills Australia, Corrections Industry Reference Group.
