Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Mining, this is an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent Mining to join our growing mining company.
This role will be responsible for ensuring our mining operations are safe, efficient and in line with the mine plan. In addition, the Superintendent Mining must be suitably qualified to be appointed as the Quarry Manager for the Thunderbird site.
This role can be offered on a residential Bus In Bus Out (BIBO) or Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) arrangement. Relocation support and additional benefits will be provided should the successful candidate be interested in moving to the West Kimberley.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the development and implementation of Life of Mine mining strategies
* Develop tools and processes for performance monitoring and reporting in line with design parameters
* Complete compliance reporting as required
* Collaborate with the processing / maintenance teams and the mining / waste contractors to ensure that the surface tailings facility perimeter wall and causeway lifts are optimised for value and risk
* Undertake statutory Quarry Manager duties as prescribed in the regulations
* Act as the Contract Owner Representative for the mining contract in place at Thunderbird
* Liaise with contractors to ensure clear two-way communication is achieved, work is undertaken in compliance with site work practices, and delivered on time and on budget
* Ensure reporting is completed accurately and on time
About You
* Hold a Statutory Quarry Manager qualification
* Hold a current WA C-Class drivers licence
* Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role, with demonstrated supervisory experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience in working with mineral sands would be advantageous
