This is an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend, based in Albion in Inner-North Brisbane.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership, development and expert advice on data and information architecture and management best practices for implementation within the department.
- Provide strategic advice on contemporary information management and technology issues and their potential to impact the department's goals.
- Conduct analysis of information and data to gain insights into business performance and trends to inform and develop options for the delivery of information management capability and uplift.
- Assist with the development of business requirements specifications for scopes of work, ensuring traceability of requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Develop high level reports that facilitate the consideration of key issues, options and enable decision-making.
- Liaise with other teams to validate requirements and assumptions and provide an enterprise-wide perspective.
- Presenting findings, insights, and recommendations to decision-makers to inform strategy and drive business results.
- Supporting the improvement of data security and privacy protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity and accessibility of sensitive business information.
- Proactively promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge and supporting common expectations.
- Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including cross-agency representatives, consultants, and contractors, to ensure delivery success.
- Engage, manage, coordinate, and communicate with stakeholders responsible for delivery of key milestones and deliverables in accordance with agreed scopes of work.
- Effectively communicate, consult, and negotiate with other public sector agencies, private sector bodies, customers, and other key stakeholders.
- Regularly communicate and report with the project leadership and other stakeholders as per schedule or as required.
**Skills and experience required**:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst working in business and technology integration for ICT lead projects or similar discipline, preferably with a focus on Information Management projects within a government organisation.
- Experience in analysing, isolating, and interpreting business needs and designing appropriate technical or business solutions.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate and influence a broad cross-section of stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Strong ability to converse with both technical and non-technical end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in development of project artifacts and documents, such as, but not limited to business requirements specifications and technical specifications.
- Experience in contributing to continuous improvement of quality processes, products and service and, through facilitating reviews, product analysis, stakeholder survey analysis and other research and benchmarking activities, to support implementation of changes.
