What this role is all about
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Adelaide office. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside dynamic professionals, contributing to projects across Defence, Health, Education and Infrastructure.
You'll be part of a national team operating under our One Lucid ethos, giving you exposure to a broad range of projects and the opportunity to collaborate across offices. This role suits someone who enjoys technical delivery, mentoring others, and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
How you'll contribute day-to-day
* Deliver mechanical design, documentation and consulting across a range of projects
* Work closely with clients, engineers and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes
* Support and mentor emerging engineers through coaching and technical guidance
* Undertake calculations, system design and documentation across HVAC and building services systems
* Apply Australian Standards, NCC and relevant codes across all project work
* Carry out QA reviews of engineering work prior to issue
* Prepare technical specifications, reports and project documentation
* Support project delivery including budgeting, coordination and site inspections
* Engage with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout project lifecycles
* Represent Lucid at meetings and industry events
What sets you up for success
* Has 5+ years' experience in building services mechanical engineering
* Holds an Australian-recognised Mechanical Engineering or Building Services degree
* Communicates clearly and confidently, both written and verbal
* Brings a strong team mindset and enjoys working collaboratively
* Is detail-focused with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
* Has experience with QA processes and engineering standards
* Understands NCC/BCA and Australian Standards requirements
* Is working toward or has achieved Chartered status (preferred)
* Has experience with AutoCAD and ideally Revit/BIM workflows
* Experience with hydronic systems and HVAC upgrades is preferable
* Holds Australian Citizenship or permanent working rights
