We're currently partnering with a key Tier 1 infrastructure contractor who are experiencing strong demand for experienced Procurement & Contracts professionals across major utilities construction projects in 2026.
These opportunities will suit candidates with strong experience in complex project procurement, subcontracting, and commercial negotiations across sectors such as energy, utilities, transport, resources, and major infrastructure.
Contract durations will be between 6-12 months, with strong potential for extensions depending on project lifecycle and performance.
The organisation
Our client are well renowned a tier one infrastructure contractor, with a diversified portfolio of projects Australia wide. These roles are concerned with the delivery of a variety of major energy and utilities infrastructure projects ranging from $100m-$1bn+ in value.
These projects are high profile, and successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly strategic procurement and contracting outcomes. You'll operate in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments where commercial thinking, collaboration, and adaptability are critical.
The role
We have a variety of opportunities available, from senior advisor through to senior manager level, responsible for shaping and executing sourcing and contracting strategies across bid and mobilisation phases of major projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing procurement and subcontracting strategies for complex, high-value packages
Supporting major bids and tenders with market intelligence, cost inputs, risk assessments, and sourcing approaches
Leading end-to-end procurement for subcontract packages and specialist equipment (including long-lead and international supply)
Preparing tender documentation, managing evaluation processes, and resolving commercial and technical non-compliances
Leading commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best-for-business outcomes
Drafting and negotiating subcontract terms, managing departures, and preparing award recommendations
Partnering with project leadership during mobilisation to ensure cost, schedule, and risk outcomes are met
Managing supplier relationships, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring strong governance, auditability, and compliance with procurement frameworks and client requirements
These roles require strong stakeholder engagement capability and the confidence to operate at senior levels within large project delivery environments.
Your background
We are keen to speak with professionals who can demonstrate:
7-10+ years' experience in project-based procurement and contracts environments within Australia (infrastructure, energy, utilities, resources, or similar)
Strong experience supporting or leading major bids, tenders, and project mobilisation
Proven capability managing high-value, high-risk, or technically complex packages
Strong understanding of Australian construction contracting environments and commercial models (e.g. EPC, D&C, ECI, etc.)
Experience with subcontractor sourcing, commercial negotiations, and award processes
Confidence working with senior stakeholders across engineering, project delivery, and executive teams
Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
Ability to operate in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Formal tertiary qualifications in supply chain, commerce, engineering, construction management, or similar are preferred but not essential for the right background.
