Our Melbourne team have an exciting opportunity for a
Process Project Engineer
to join them and play a key role in delivering high-quality process engineering solutions across the food, dairy, and general manufacturing sectors.
This role will suit someone who enjoys a diverse workload — from concept design and tendering through to onsite installation and commissioning — and who takes pride in seeing projects through from idea to completion. You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team focused on practical design, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, direct, and coordinate the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of process equipment and systems.
* Develop process schemes, layouts, and specifications for pricing, tendering, and construction.
* Manage and deliver design documentation on time and within budget.
* Monitor and coordinate onsite works, liaising with design teams, contractors, and clients.
* Assess design changes, evaluate cost impacts, and negotiate variations as needed.
* Identify issues early and implement effective engineering solutions.
* Assist with project delivery, client communication, and resource management.
About You
* Degree-qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Process, or related discipline).
* Experience in food, dairy, or process engineering environments preferred.
* Strong knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, and design practices.
* Demonstrated experience of end-to-end involvement in a process project, from initial concept & design to commissioning and operations.
* Proficient in computer-based design and documentation systems.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Willingness to work onsite within Australia as project needs require.
