Law Graduate or Junior Lawyer - Contract Role with immediate start
Our client
Our client is a large and sophisticated organisation, with a solid legal team of quality lawyers seeking to add a junior to the team for a short term contract. Suited to a driven and highly motivated Junior Lawyer or Law Graduate.
The role
Offered on a contract basis for 2-3 months, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in this criminal and administrative law role. Manage your own caseload including Summary to Indictable offences, as well as adjudications, appearing in court, and developing your professional skills.
In this role you will enjoy the following:
- Assist with, and conduct hearings
- Present relevant evidence to the court
- Draft court documents
- Engage with internal clients and conduct legal research
- Work closely with senior prosecutors
Skills & Experience
To be suitable for this role, you MUST have:
- A current practicing certificate or be able to gain one
- Relevant experience so as to confidently attend court hearings and trials in criminal and administrative law matters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and show initiative
- The ability to speak in court confidently
